so, I just got home from a long trial/deliberation. Being on a jury is both fascinating and EXTREMELY frustrating. I encourage everyone to look forward to it if you are ever called. After over three hours of jury deliberation, James H. Williams was charged with a class C felony. I learned so much today. It felt really good. |

| | mellow | ] | First two days of class are officially over. And you know? I'm pretty happy about that. Unlike most people (or maybe everyone else feels the same way) I HATE the first days of class. Professors just waste the entire time reading their precious "syllabi" and telling you that they'll eat your soul if you don't show up or are late for their class. Hmm, last time I (lowly community college student that I am) checked, you have to be able to REEEAD in order to get into college in the first place (or pass first grade for that matter). So can't they just cover the basics and tell us to read the rest if we're interested? Ok, that aside I just finished my very first of many spanish assignments for the year. I hope the class stays as easy as it is but of course, it won't. Most of you reading this (all one of you) know i don't "update" very much, but i have an hour to kill. Aren't you all excited? I know i'd be. No one's updated their profile in a few days and I'm kinda pissed. My online stalker self needs that kind of stuff. So please update, so I have something to do and you're not forced to read MY useless drivel.
I had auditions last night. I think they went pretty well. I have to go back tonight for some more cold-readings. I tried out for this play called "Lovers and Executioners" at IUSB. It's set in the 17century but is an adaptation by (i believe) Peter Strand. It's all in rhyme and pretty fricking hilarious. (yes i just used my last name in vein. i can do that. Would you tell God not to use his own name in vein? I didn't think so.) They main female role is a woman disguised as a man, and as we're short on males in the dept. right now, chances are some women will be playing men in the show. It will hopefully be ridiculously confusing to the audience and no one will know what's going on. Anyways, I have to come back tonight and read for the part of Don Lope, a noble spanish military man. You can imagine. I think it's awesome.
Ok, so now it's 3:11 and i have 51 minutes left. ... (...)
Let's see, what have i been reading about lately that seems of interest... ... (...) Jessica Simpson lost her voice. She's supposed to get it back on Friday. The Emmy's did a no-no with the "conan plane crash" segment on sunday after 49 people died from a plane crash in kentucky two hours previuos. The Emmy dresses this year were pretty awful btw. did anyone else notice that? not that i had time to watch the emmy's, but i do enjoy my yahoo!news and cnn. I don't think they were really ugly or anything... just a little... bland? i dunno. it's terrible when i start talking about shit i don't even care about. i'm gonna go waste time elsewhere on the web and save anyone who might (MIGHT) be reading this.. for the love of God, i'm sorry. |

| | clock ticking, computer humming, gabby somewhere | ] | So today has been filled with almost nothing. I didn't wake up until after noon. I'm not gonna lie, i've been having some trouble getting to sleep without Pat here. It doesn't look like i'm going to see him much this summer, and god that's really awful to think about. In other news, I start back at Bonefish sometime this weekend which is AWESOME because i need money. I'm hoping to go into Ethan Allen sometime today or tomorrow and apply for another job. my sister works there and said they're hiring a parttime receptionist who also does minion work for the boss lady. the only problem is i don't know if they'll hire me if i leave in the fall. This job has the potential to be unbelievably awesome. after you're there for awhile they apparently let you become a design consultant which would mean an actual salary and health benefits and a semi-normal adult life which is something i've been craving lately. these two jobs would also give me the opportunity to move out on my own and actually BUY A CAR this fall. IUSB's not lookin to bad anymore... In addition to "jobbin it up" this summer, i've also decided to audition for the sound of music. I know a lot of people hate this show, but i LOVE it. and i guess i don't have to worry about making chorus because, well there IS no chorus. we'll see how it goes. if anyone else wants to hang out with (probably) a bunch of high school students this summer and sing and dance around on a stage, let me know. we'll go together.
meanwhile, how is everyone else? i feel so out of the loop.
that's all i got. |

| | Was incubus, but the playlist just stopped. | ] | You know, sometimes I really truly miss things like having best friends and girl-talk. Where did all that go anyway?
Other than that things are going pretty well down here in good ol' Btown. There are a lot of people down here that I know and love and have not seen in a very long time. If you're reading this and think you're one of these people, you are. Let's go do something, I miss all of you.
Classes are going just fine. Only have 4 this semester so it's really not bad. Willkie is probably the nicest dorm on campus, and consequently the most expensive. Next year- apartment. Which also means no meal points. Every day as i go through the lunch/dinner line and spend anywhere from $7-$10 per meal, i realize just how badly my pocket is being raped by this institution. $8 twice a day for a week: that's $112. $448 a month! How on EARTH is food that expensive for one person?? it's sickening. I can't think about it.
This morning before Acting III i successfully memorized all of Act I: Scene V from Macbeth *waits for applause*, and surprisingly, enjoyed the class. I guess every now and then Dale has a few good things to say, and on occassion can crack a joke.
Min, my math instructor, decided to curve everyone's exam grades today, taking me from a 67% to 82%. Thank the Lord for Min Kyung Jung.
In even more recent news: I just finished my first mixed drink, which was quite large and consisted of about 3 shots "comin' atchtya". I think i'll go make another one. It was reeeeeeeaaaallly good. |

I'm more a of "groupie" who sometimes puts in random thoughts then fades back into her "stalkerish" background of perusing through other people's thoughts. weird? hmm...
I rarely have anything important to say other than mindless babbling I'm sure (and hope) no one reads, but today I happen to have something very important to say:
I love Patrick Kulwicki.
The end. Now stop reading my livejournal and go do something productive with your life. ;) |
